The sisters’ music is mainstream, yet both girls have been very forthcoming about their faith, and have made more than a splash in the Christian rock scene. In fact, “Never Far Behind” was a single which was only released on Christian rock radio. The single went #1 on Radio & Records (R&R) Christian CHR. The sisters don’t wish to be labeled as Christian music artists – instead would simply like their music to be inspiring.

Ever the entrepreneurs, the sisters have their hands full with other pursuits. Huckleberry Toys released Hello Kitty Limited Edition Aly & AJ dolls to selected Target stores. Currently, Toys R Us is selling a line of the dolls. On November 20, 2007, The Aly & AJ Adventure game was brought out as a Nintendo DS game.

Since June 12, 2008, the two began releasing their own paperback adventure books, called Aly & AJ’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Mysteries, each part describing Aly & AJ on tour, and every book detailing a mystery in a different city. All drawings in the books are done by Aly. The first two installments – namely, First Stop, New York and Mayhem in Miami – were released on June 12, the third book – Singing in Seattle – was released on September 2, and the last book – Nashville Nights – hit stores on October 4, 2008.

Aly’s guitar features a heart-and-crossbones print in pink, whereas AJ’s guitar is in the shape of the Aly & AJ heart logo – it features a bright pink and purple zebra print. The guitars were launched on October 11, 2008 during an event at Universal Studios CityWalk in California. In addition to the musical instruments, the sisters also have clothing, accessories, jewelry and cosmetics lines. The duo is one of Hollywood’s highest earning singers under the age of thirty, according to Forbes and AOL.
